On 4 February, Stannol hosted the "Journey into the Circular Economy" organised by the SME Digital Centre Future Culture initiative. Under the motto "The right chemistry", the company provided insights into its sustainable processes and provided information on the topic of digital product passports for more transparency along the supply chain.
Firstly, Managing Director Marco Dörr and Sustainability Manager Susanne Schlüter reported on the path the company has taken from the idea to the actual implementation of a sustainable circular economy: production was gradually converted to a circular economy over ten years ago as part of a change in strategy. Since then, sustainability has been practised in all areas.
Stephan Multhaupt, Project Manager Mittelstand-Digital Zentrum WertNetzWerke, then spoke with Ingo Lomp, authorised signatory and Head of Innovation at Stannol, about the digital product passport that the company is planning. The event ended with an exclusive tour of the Velbert production facility for the visitors.
As part of the "Journey into the Circular Economy", topics relating to the circular economy will be explored in greater depth in various sectors. Other hosts included the GLS Bank in Hamburg and the Brüninghoff Group in Heiden. The sustainability trip is a cooperation between the German Sustainable Economy Association, the NRW Efficiency Agency and the SME Digital Centre for Future Culture.
