Stannol Managing Director Marco Dörr has been awarded the BAUM environmental and sustainability award in the small and medium-sized enterprises category. The award ceremony took place on November 11 in Dortmund.

Pioneer in the industry

The jury's statement: "Marco Dörr was the first in the soldering industry to initiate and implement the exclusive use of recycled tin or fairly mined and traded tin at Stannol. In this way, the family business has set new sustainability standards for this conflict raw material and had a positive impact on the industry."

"Receiving the BAUM Environmental and Sustainability Award is a great honour for us – and a strong signal: sustainability is not only created through political decisions or private commitment, but above all where companies act courageously, invest and take responsibility. We want to show that sustainable business is not a contradiction to success, but rather its foundation," emphasises Marco Dörr.

One of the most prestigious sustainability awards in Germany

BAUM e. V. is a non-profit corporate network that has been committed to sustainable business for over 40 years. The non-endowed BAUM Environmental and Sustainability Award is one of the most prestigious sustainability awards in Germany. The corporate network deliberately honours committed individuals rather than organisations. In this way, the work of those who are responsible for environmental and sustainability management and implement it operationally is honoured. Since 1993, more than 300 role models for sustainability and environmental protection have been honoured.
